Honoring a Life of Creativity, Enterprise, and Generosity.
Our Story
Mary Cobb Rollins Studios Foundation, Inc. was established in memory of Mary Cobb Rollins, whose deep affection for Thomasville, its history, and its residents shaped both her work and her everyday life.
As a professional photographer, Mary captured the moments that became treasured memories: family portraits, weddings, parades, and homecoming queens. Her photographs preserved personal milestones and the community traditions that made Thomasville special to her.
Mary was also a skilled custom picture framer, specializing in framing prints for local plantations and businesses throughout Thomas County. Her entrepreneurial spirit extended beyond her studio; at different times, she also sold jewelry and Amway products, bringing energy and determination to her many endeavors.
“Her photographs preserved personal milestones and the community traditions that made Thomasville special to her.”
Her care for the community was especially evident in her love for young people. During Rose Show weekend, she frequently handed out hot dogs and sodas from her front yard – a simple, welcoming gesture that reflected her generous spirit. She also supported the Second Presbyterian daycare and playground, showing her commitment to places where children could learn, play, and grow.
The foundation carries that spirit forward by serving families in need throughout Thomas County, supporting opportunities for higher education, and bringing neighbors together through giving and volunteer service. Our annual Christmas Holiday Giveaway and Summer Clothing Giveaway continue Mary’s tradition of caring for others through practical acts of kindness.
Through this work, we honor Mary’s memory and the community she loved—preserving a legacy of creativity, opportunity, and care across generations.
